China businessman killed by nanny after using her to make ex jealous in bid for reunion
Enraged, dumped domestic helper enlists help of cousin to stab duplicitous man she fell in love with to death, is handed life-long prison sentence
A man pretended to fall in love with a nanny to provoke his ex-wife into reconciling in a move which ultimately led the nanny to seek revenge and murder him after learning the truth.
The man, surnamed Xie, owned a food company and met his wife, surnamed He, during their undergraduate years. The couple were officially together after graduation, eventually married, and had a daughter.
However, as Xie’s career flourished, he became arrogant and frequently quarrelled with his wife over trivial matters, leading to their divorce.
Xie was granted custody of their daughter and hired a nanny, surnamed Li, to manage the household. Li handled everything with meticulous care.
However, Xie always thought of reconciling with his ex-wife, but he was “too proud” to propose a reunion, worrying that it would diminish his “family status” and undermine his authority in the household.
Then he devised a plan which involved pursuing Li, in the hope of igniting jealousy in his ex-wife.
