When a woman in Jiangsu province in eastern China caught Covid-19, her dog became her main source of comfort during her suffering, reported Bailu Video.
The woman, surnamed Wei, noticed her symptoms worsening during the night of December 17, and couldn’t sleep due to a high fever. She said she got a surprise when her pet dog insisted on staying by her bedside the entire night.
Although the dog was drowsy and fell asleep several times, Wei said it would wake up to check on her whenever she coughed or stirred in the night.
Wei said she and her boyfriend have had the dog for eight months and that as her boyfriend often travelled for work, the dog was always by her side when she felt unwell.

The news report trended on the mainland with many internet users touched by the dog’s loyalty.
“This family can’t do without this dog. I will always praise a dog’s love for their human,” said one commenter.
“The dog is more helpful than her boyfriend,” joked another person.
Dog picks up medicine for owner
Maomao, a five-year-old pet Goldador in central China’s Hubei province has become a minor celebrity after helping her Covid-19-infected owner collect fever medication.
In a video posted last week by the owner, surnamed Ye, on Douyin, the golden retriever and Labrador crossbreed was seen travelling to the home of Ye’s uncle and then collecting parcels sent to Ye at a delivery station.
The heartwarming journey was recorded by a camera attached to Maomao’s body.

“Maomao has become the backbone of my house,” Ye told Feidian Video.
She said she has been training Maomao to do small tasks such as turning on lights and opening and closing doors. Maomao could even understand commands she gave through the pet camera, such as getting an electric torch and turning it on and then meeting her on her way home at night.
Five Alaskan Malamutes look after owner in bed
In northeastern China’s Jilin province, five Alaskan Malamutes have been looking after their owner, surnamed Xiaoyu, after she became sick with Covid-19.

In videos posted by Xiaoyu on her Douyin account, the large dogs were seen sitting next to each other by her bed. On her command, they stood up and went out through the bedroom door one by one to fetch water, a care package left in her front yard, a meal, a mobile phone and toilet paper.
Xiaoyu, now aged 24, said she got her first Alaskan Malamute after her mother died when she was 19. She later adopted another Alaskan Malamute.
The two dogs had three puppies which she decided to keep. Xiaoyu has more than 440 million followers on Douyin whom she entertains by posting about her life with her dog family.
Earlier this year, she spent all her savings on a country home so her five dogs had more space to roam around.
