From the ridiculous to the important, the uplifting and the serious, we have strived to tell the stories of China through the lenses of everyday people.

China’s glory at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics told through a young diver who skyrocketed to superstardom. The horror of domestic violence and the strength of survivors demonstrated through the plight of a woman still fighting to recover two years after her husband tried to murder her while she was pregnant.
The country’s crackdown on the entertainment industry highlighted by Nicholas Tse giving up his Canadian citizenship, and the story of China’s imminent demographic crisis told through a woman who paid over US$150,000 in fines to have “seven perfect children”.
