Thai tycoon offers US$900 for slapping face of son’s mistress, who once dated grandson
Unfaithful son completely disregards responsibilities, allegedly threatens wife with a gun, demanding that she leave voluntarily
A Thai durian tycoon has shocked the internet after publicly offering a reward of 30,000 Thai baht (US$900) for slapping the face of his married son’s mistress, who had previously dated another young family member.
Arnon Rodthong, 65, started from scratch and now owns the largest durian orchard and warehouse in Chumphon province, southern Thailand, processing around 50 tonnes of durians daily.
Recently, he made headlines after posting a controversial reward announcement on Facebook, which quickly went viral among Thai netizens.
His anger stemmed from the infidelity of his married son, Chai – one of his four children – and the mistress identified as On. Rodthong has three sons and one daughter.
According to Rodthong, Chai had been married for years and had a child with his wife, but abandoned her for his mistress. On had allegedly dated Rodthong’s grandson, though some media reports said it was his nephew.
The mistress originally joined his durian company as an accountant. Not long after, she seduced Rodthong’s grandson and began “climbing the ladder” before ultimately setting her sights on Chai.
Later, his son completely disregarded his responsibilities and allegedly even threatened his wife with a gun, demanding that she leave voluntarily.
