China teenage girl dies in road accident just days after being accepted to university
18-year-old who dreamed of becoming a doctor so she could help fellow villagers killed while collecting deliveries

The death of an 18-year-old girl in China who was accepted by a medical school in July only to be killed in a road accident days later has sparked a wave of sympathy online.
Du Binyang, from a rural family in Yanyuan county, Sichuan province, southwestern China, was admitted to the rehabilitation major at North Sichuan Medical College at the end of July.
Just weeks earlier she had taken the gruelling national university entrance examination, known as “gaokao”, Red Star News reported.

However, she died in a road accident several days later on her way to fetch delivery goods, the local authorities confirmed.
Details of the accident have not been revealed, and the case is still under investigation, according to the report.
“My girl, you have successfully realised your dream, but you cannot see it. Are you OK in the afterworld? Mum is missing you so much!” Binyang’s mother wrote on social media on July 29, following her death.

Binyang was a top student at school and won many awards, according to videos shared by her mother, whose name has not been disclosed.
