On December 10, the 42-year-old Beijing mother of three, known as Wang Xiaobei or “Beiye is Superwoman” online, shared a video celebrating her triumph over cancer with her 1.6 million followers on Douyin.

With excitement, she declared: “Today, I officially announce the end of my 999 ‘legacy photos’ project because I have successfully beaten cancer!”

Wang detailed her journey: “From my diagnosis last year to now, I’ve undergone endocrine therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, and 20 rounds of radiotherapy. I’ve finally made it through and successfully passed the critical period. Moving forward, I’ll still need to take lifelong medication to prevent recurrence.”

After her breast cancer diagnosis in October last year, Wang initiated the plan to take 999 “legacy photos” to capture beautiful moments in life despite the challenges posed by her illness.
