Driver loses control of truck in Central Kowloon Bypass, toppling goods and causing jam
Wall of tunnel damaged by truck and fallen prefab housing components obstruct road, leading to lane closures

The driver of a goods truck lost control of his vehicle in Hong Kong’s new Central Kowloon Bypass on Friday morning, causing two prefabricated housing components to fall onto the road and leading to lane closures.
The accident, which damaged the tunnel wall, was one of the most severe since the HK$42 billion (US$5.36 billion) project opened in December last year.
Police said they received a report about the accident at 9.44am.
Two housing components fell from the truck onto the ground, with no deaths or injuries reported, according to the force.
A video clip circulating online appears to show the medium goods vehicle swerving violently across lanes before striking the tunnel wall. The impact left the vehicle facing the wrong direction, blocking two lanes.
Debris was scattered across the road, and the tunnel wall was damaged.
