Hong Kong’s Citybus raises staff salaries by 2.5%, matches rival KMB
Frontline staff, including bus drivers and non-supervisory employees, will get minimum increase of HK$600, firm says

Hong Kong franchised bus operator Citybus has raised salaries for its frontline staff by 2.5 per cent, matching the pay increase offered to all employees by rival KMB.
Citybus, the second-largest franchised bus operator in Hong Kong after KMB, said it had considered factors, such as labour market trends, when adjusting wages and was hopeful the increase would boost morale among staff.
Frontline staff, including bus drivers and non-supervisory staff, will receive a guaranteed minimum increase of HK$600 (US$77), according to the firm. The adjustment will take place retroactively from September 1, 2025.
“This adjustment reflects our appreciation for the dedication and contributions of our team,” Citybus said on Thursday.
Frontline staff at a supervisory level, meanwhile, will be entitled to an early adjustment following their annual performance reviews.
The firm said it had considered several factors, including labour market trends, changes in the consumer price index, internal operational challenges and business revenue.
