Taxi about to turn right onto Boundary Street in Sham Shui Po when it hit van, police say
A taxi crashed into a van in a busy Hong Kong district on Monday, resulting in both drivers being sent to hospital.
The taxi, driven by a 72-year-old man, was travelling westbound on Lai Chi Kok Road in Sham Shui Po while the light goods van was heading east before they collided at about 12.30pm.
A police spokesman said that when the taxi was about to turn right onto Boundary Street, it hit the van.
According to the force, the taxi driver reported having dizziness. The male van driver, 51, suffered back pain after the collision. Both men were sent to Caritas Medical Centre in Sham Shui Po.
Last year, a taxi driver, 52, died after passing out behind the wheel and hitting a kerb while heading along a busy interchange.
