A source familiar with the case said two babysitters on board the bus were unhurt during the accident on Waterloo Road in Kowloon Tong at around 9.30am on Friday. No students were on board.

The insider said the bus hit the roadside kerb near the Kowloon Tong Club seconds before its driver passed out.

“After the vehicle hit the kerb, one of the babysitters patted the driver and asked if she was OK. She replied she was fine. Seconds later, the accident happened and she fainted,” he said.

He said the unconscious driver was breathing and had a pulse before she was carried into an ambulance.
