Hong Kong police have arrested a young man on suspicion of ill‑treating a baby after a video posted online showed him on an MTR train repeatedly slapping the infant’s foot each time it touched the stroller’s front bar.

A force spokesman has confirmed that a 19-year-old man had been arrested, after the video went viral.

The commuter who filmed the video told the South China Morning Post on Tuesday that she witnessed the man slapping the infant’s foot more than 20 times on a light rail train in Tin Shui Wai.
