Hong Kong wakes up to coldest morning so far this winter at 12.9 degrees
‘Temperatures over many areas fell to 12 degrees or below this morning, four to five degrees lower than those of Thursday,’ Observatory says

Hong Kong on Friday experienced its coldest morning so far this winter, with temperatures dropping to 12.9 degrees Celsius (55.22 Fahrenheit).
The Observatory said the city’s first cold weather warning of the season had remained in force for the first working day of 2026. The warning was originally issued at 4.20pm on Thursday.
“Temperatures over many areas fell to 12 degrees or below this morning, four to five degrees lower than those on Thursday,” a spokesman said.
The forecaster said that Friday’s weather would be mainly fine and dry, with daytime highs reaching around 18 degrees.
As of 8am, temperatures in King’s Park, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Tuen Mun, Cheung Chau, Chek Lap Kok, Sai Kung, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po and Yuen Long Park were around 12 degrees.
