Missing Hong Kong man, 77, found dead by waterfall after solo hike

A Hong Kong man reported missing has been found dead by a waterfall in Tuen Mun after going hiking alone.

Police said 77-year-old Ling Chi-sing was located at around 1.40am on Saturday, lying by a waterfall near Tsz Tin Tsuen in Tuen Mun.

He was certified dead at the scene, and the cause of death was under investigation, the force added.

Ling was discovered during a joint operation involving police, Fire Services Department, Government Flying Service and Civil Aid Service, launched several days after he was reported missing.

He was last seen near Yan Po Road on Wednesday, and his family reported him missing to police the following day.

According to the force, Ling had gone hiking alone.
