Hong Kong man dies after being pulled from sea off Tsim Sha Tsui’s Star Ferry pier

Hong Kong police are investigating the death of a man found floating in the sea off the Star Ferry pier in Tsim Sha Tsui on Saturday.

The force said it received a report from boatmen at about 7am that a man had been spotted in the water.

Officers rescued the unconscious man, believed to be about 50 years old. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei for treatment, but was later pronounced dead.

No identification documents or suicide notes were found and police said the cause of death would be determined after an autopsy.
