An elderly Hongkonger reported missing at Kowloon Peak has been found after losing contact with his family for more than a day.

Police said on Tuesday evening that Wong Pak-cheung, 82, was found at Kowloon Peak, or Fei Ngo Shan, in Wong Tai Sin, under no suspicious circumstances.

Wong was last seen on the mountain on Monday morning, and his family reported him missing to police on the same day.

The Fire Services Department said it mobilised a mountain rescue team, a search dog and a drone to look for him at around 11.30am on Tuesday.

He was eventually found by rescuers after 10pm in Pak Fa Lam on Kowloon Peak, with scratches on his limbs.

Wong was sent to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong for treatment.
