Crashed Mercedes-Benz car found abandoned in Hong Kong drainage channel

A Mercedes-Benz car has been found abandoned in a metres-deep drainage channel in Hong Kong.

Police said they had received a report at 6.28am on Saturday about a vehicle that had crashed into a nullah at On Lok Road in Yuen Long.

Pictures circulating online show a white Mercedes sitting in about 30cm (one foot) of water, with its airbags inflated, two front doors open, a dented front and rear lights damaged.

Railings have also been ripped out of on the pavement near the crash site, photos show.

Police said the driver had not been found as of 3pm. The force is having the car towed from the channel.
