Hong Kong will be hit by heavy showers and squally thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather forecaster has said.

The nine-day forecast by the Observatory on Sunday showed that conditions would be mainly cloudy on Monday with some isolated showers at first. Temperatures will be between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius (75 and 84 Fahrenheit).

There will be sunny intervals on Tuesday.

The Observatory said a fresh easterly airstream was set to affect the coast of Guangdong province over the next couple of days, with a southerly airstream expected to replace it on Wednesday.

The weather will become unsettled from Wednesday onwards, bringing mainly cloudy conditions with heavy showers and squally thunderstorms.
