Hong Kong police open investigation after skeletal remains found in public flat
Force received report at around 11am from Housing Department employee who found man’s remains in flat’s bathroom
Hong Kong police have opened an investigation after the skeletal remains of a man were discovered in a public rental flat.
The force received a report at around 11am on Wednesday from a Housing Department employee who found the man’s remains in the bathroom of the flat, located in Shek On House of Shek Lei (I) Estate in Kwai Tsing.
“Officers have collected the skeletal remains for further examination. The man’s cause of death will be determined after an autopsy,” police said.
In August last year, the bodies of a bedridden 82-year-old Hong Kong woman and her 60-year-old son were found in their flat in Kwun Tong, with investigators believing there was no one to take care of her when he died, the Post learned.
