Hong Kong vows to tackle ticket scalping for Kai Tak Sports Park opening show
Authorities contact police after tickets for March 1 opening ceremony reportedly being sold online for as much as HK$1,800

Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui on Saturday urged residents to remain vigilant a day after 8,500 tickets – priced at HK$10 each – sold out in just 30 minutes through official channels.
“The face value of these tickets is not high. At most, they are worth HK$10. If anyone claims to have tickets through different channels and sells them at a high price, this constitutes scalping,” she told a radio programme.
Law said authorities had also contacted police, which would “conduct certain operations to handle the issue”, but declined to go into details.
Local media reported that tickets were being put on sale for up to HK$1,800 by users on the Carousell platform. Others were also offering to buy them for up to HK$1,000.
A check by the Post on Saturday found that the tickets were no longer listed at those prices but were instead being offered for about HK$10 to HK$30. One seller, who originally listed a ticket at HK$1, told the Post it would be sold for HK$1,300.
