An elderly man has fallen to his death while hanging laundry at his home in Hong Kong, less than two weeks after a woman was suspected to have met the same fate in similar circumstances.

Security personnel alerted police after discovering the 83-year-old man lying on a podium near Yee Yip House at Tsing Yi Estate at 4.30pm on Monday.

Paramedics confirmed his death at the scene.

Police suspect he fell while hanging laundry next to a window.

On September 18, a 67-year-old woman was suspected to have fallen to her death while collecting laundry next to a window in a flat at Heng Shan House at Heng On Estate in Ma On Shan.

She was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin where she was pronounced dead.
