The six-a-side tournament kicked off at noon at the Kowloon Cricket Club in Jordan, featuring teams representing Britain, Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa. Their consuls general were present, joined by spectators who enjoyed free entrance.

The organiser, the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS), Hong Kong Branch – an organisation committed to connecting citizens of Commonwealth countries in the city – said it hoped to bring people together through the game.

“We hope the event will strengthen friendship between Commonwealth countries in Hong Kong and provide good entertainment for spectators,” said Peter Mann, chairman of the RCS-Hong Kong Branch. “Cricket is also about fairness and good moral conduct.”

This was the second time the Hong Kong branch organised the event. Last year, Pakistan beat India in the final.
