Pakistan claim early cricket world cup bragging rights with 16-run win over India in Commonwealth Cup

Pakistan’s diplomats claimed bragging rights over their Indian counterparts by beating them to win the Commonwealth Cup in Hong Kong on Friday.
The six-a-side cricket tournament, which featured representatives from six Commonwealth countries – Britain, Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa – was held to mark the 150th anniversary of The Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS).
Leading players, including Anshuman Rath, Hong Kong’s captain, who played for India, took part in the event at Kowloon Cricket Club, which was also attended by the consul general from each country.
The teams were split into two groups, with India beating Australia and England to advance to the final, while Pakistan beat New Zealand and South Africa.
In a closely contested final, Pakistan eventually beat their opponents by 16 runs, holding India to 103 after scoring 119. The cup was presented to the winning team by Pakistan’s Consul General Abdul Qadir Memon
