Luxury carmaker Audi pledges HK$150,000 of earnings from car rental service to charity
German carmaker takes part in Operation Santa Claus, the annual fundraiser organised by the South China Morning Post and RTHK, for the first time
Hong Kong drivers who want to do good for charity and experience carmaker Audi’s “premium mobility service” can do so with just a few taps on their smartphone.
The German brand recently launched its new online car rental service in the city, “Audi on Demand”, with drivers able to book its vehicles for a day or longer.
Audi pledged to donate some of its earnings from the new service between November 22 and December 21 to Operation Santa Claus, the annual fundraiser by the South China Morning Post and RTHK.
Audi managing director Lothar Korn said it was the first time the luxury carmaker had collaborated with Operation Santa Claus and was looking forward to taking part in more charitable efforts in the coming future.
“Audi Hong Kong will donate HK$150,000 from the first revenues of Audi on Demand,” he said. “So every customer will be the first to pay directly into that charity event and we are certain that our drivers will be very happy to be able to take part in this meaningful event.”
