Detectives investigating the alleged HK$28 million kidnap for ransom of a Hong Kong clothing chain heiress still haven't found the cave where they say she was held captive - 10 weeks after the alleged crime.

The continued police search for the cave and other unfinished detective work emerged yesterday as suspected kidnapper Zheng Xingwang appeared in court for the third time since his arrest in Hong Kong earlier this year in connection with the alleged kidnap of Bossini heiress Queenie Rosita Law.

Prosecutors in Kwun Tong Court yesterday sought a further 10-week adjournment of the case in which Zheng, 29 - the only suspect arrested in Hong Kong - is accused of conspiracy to forcibly take or detain Law between April 25 and 28 along with five others, who are all in custody on the mainland.

Prosecutor Esther Mak told the court the extra time was required to allow police to conduct further investigations, including forensic examinations and discovering the location of the cave "where the victim was held".

Zheng, who comes from Wengan county in Guizhou , made his first court appearance on May 5.

Mak also told the court legal advice on the case would only be sought from the Department of Justice after investigative work had been completed.
