Security guard leaves gun at Hong Kong ATM in second case in two months
Police investigating after being called to shopping centre in Aberdeen
A security guard left a gun at an ATM in Aberdeen on Sunday night, the second case in as many months.
Police were called to a shopping centre in Cheng Tu Road at around 11pm after the weapon was spotted by a member of the public.
By the time police arrived at the scene, a security guard had returned to the ATM to collect the gun, according to a police spokeswoman.
The guard, a 29-year-old surnamed Chan, was taken away by police for questioning. He had been collecting cash from a bank branch, the spokeswoman said on Monday morning.
She refused to reveal the name of the security company involved and added that she had no information about the gun’s type or whether it was loaded. She said no arrest has been made.
Investigations by the Western District’s criminal investigation department are continuing.
