Police have arrested three men in northern Hong Kong following a dramatic high-speed car chase, with dashcam footage posted online showing one suspect falling out of the vehicle during the pursuit.

The car driver and his two passengers were arrested in Sheung Shui in the New Territories for a number of alleged offences including drug-related ones, a source said on Saturday.

The chase began shortly after the car driver crashed into a vehicle parked at San Cheung Street in Sheung Shui at about 9am and did not stop, prompting the owner to call police.

Officers spotted the vehicle in Sheung Shui and ordered the car driver to stop, but he allegedly ignored their instructions and headed towards Man Kam To.

The car later hit a truck near Kong Nga Po Road and drove away, prompting that driver to also call police.

“Police later chased the vehicle to Man Kam To … where one of the arrestees fell out of the front passenger seat, with police immediately subduing that person. The car did not stop,” the insider said.
