A 27-year-old Hong Kong man has been arrested for wounding after allegedly attacking his stepfather with two knives following an argument in a public rental flat.

Police said that they received a report from the man at 1.20pm on Thursday. He informed them of a dispute with his 73-year-old stepfather at their home in Kin On House, Wo Lok Estate, Kwun Tong.

“The arrested person was suspected of attacking the victim with two 30-centimetre-long kitchen knives,” the force said.

A source said the pair argued over a trivial matter related to food.

“The suspect was emotionally agitated. He took a knife and attacked the victim,” the source said.

The victim sustained an injury to his chest and was taken to United Christian Hospital, in Kwun Tong.
