Hong Kong police have arrested two men after a video circulating online showed several people surrounding a red-topped minibus, with one member of the group striking the vehicle with a hard object after the driver repeatedly slammed into their car during the confrontation.

The force said on Sunday that the incident in Yuen Long the previous morning was being investigated by anti-triad officers, with the case being classified as criminal damage and reckless driving.

The two men, aged 30 and 37, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and were being detained as part of the investigation, it added.

The confrontation was reported to police at around 10.50am on Saturday after a private car had cut off the red minibus which was travelling along Tai Tong Road, near Shui Chiu San Tsuen.

Police said several men then got out of the car and began arguing with the minibus driver, before he drove into the vehicle twice.

The video posted online shows at least five men surrounding the minibus, with one holding what appears to be an iron bar.
