Driver of Hong Kong school bus dies after crashing into fence

No children were travelling on the school bus when driver, 78, lost control of vehicle near police station in Ma On Shan at 6.45am on Friday

A Hong Kong school bus driver has died after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into a fence.

No students were on the bus as it travelled in the direction of Wu Kai Sha on Kam Ying Road at around 6.45am on Friday, police said.

The 78-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle near the police station in Ma On Shan and crashed into a fence next to the road. He became trapped and fell unconscious.

He was sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin and later pronounced dead.
