Suspect arrested, 4 others at large after Hong Kong jewellery shop robbery

Some of the goods stolen from San Fung Avenue shop in Sheung Shui have been recovered

Hong Kong police have arrested a 23-year-old man and are looking for four others in connection with a robbery at a jewellery shop in Sheung Shui.

The man was stopped at a house in Pat Heung on Thursday morning over his alleged involvement in the robbery on San Fung Avenue at around 6.30pm the previous day, police said.

Gold bracelets and chains valued at HK$1.5 million were stolen, said Chief Inspector Law Like-him of the New Territories North regional headquarters.

Officers recovered five gold bracelets in the house.

The man, a technician, is expected to be charged with robbery and to appear at Tuen Mun Court on Saturday.
