A 73-year-old Hong Kong man in a wheelchair narrowly escaped death after accidentally reversing off a train platform and falling onto tracks in the New Territories on Monday.
The man was waiting for a train at Tai Hing (North) light rail stop on Tai Fong Street in Tuen Mun at around 5.30am when he fell onto the tracks, a source familiar with the matter said.
According to a police spokeswoman, the man was discovered by a passer-by who called officers.
The man sustained head injuries and was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment after he was rescued by emergency personnel, she said.
