April court date for woman charged with murder of husband, 84, in Hong Kong

An elderly woman’s appearance in court over the alleged murder of her 84-year-old husband in Hong Kong has been delayed until next month as she remains in hospital.
Cheng Ying-lee, 71, was unable to appear at Kowloon City Court on Saturday morning and will attend instead on April 5 or as soon as she is discharged from hospital.
According to a charge sheet available for press inspection, Cheng is suspected of murdering her husband, Edward Cheng Kin-wong, at their upscale home at Panorama Court on Beacon Hill Road in Kowloon Tong between Tuesday and Wednesday.
First responders were called to the flat at around 4.20am on Wednesday after one of the couple’s domestic helper found the man on a bed with tape covering his mouth and nose, according to an insider.
His wife was discovered unconscious near the bed next to a bloodstained knife.
