Hong Kong singer Gloria Tang Tsz-kei, also known as G.E.M. and dubbed “China’s Taylor Swift”, will perform three shows at Kai Tak Stadium in August as part of the second edition of her “I AM GLORIA” world tour.
According to Tang’s announcement on Instagram, the concerts will be held August 15, 16 and 17, with tickets priced between HK$680 (US$86) and HK$1,780.
It will be the first time that Tang, who is popular in mainland China and Hong Kong, has held a concert in the city since 2017.
“Hong Kong, I have come back,” Tang said in the post. “August 15 to 17, it is my birthday week, see you at Kai Tak.”
Online travel company Klook has been designated a priority ticket sale outlet for the shows. Fans will be able to purchase tickets and packages via its mobile application from midday on June 25.
Born in 1991, Tang earned the nickname “China’s Taylor Swift” due to similarities with the American pop star, with both known for writing their own songs, often about love and romance.
Tang is the latest artist to announce a performance at the 50,000-seat stadium, which is the centrepiece of the HK$30 billion Kai Tak Sports Park, the city’s first multipurpose sports, entertainment and leisure complex.

Over the past few months, the stadium has hosted concerts by British rock band Coldplay, Cantopop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung and Taiwanese band Mayday. Taiwanese singer Jay Chou is set to perform there later this month, followed by South Korean boy band NCT Dream in August and K-pop group Twice in December.
According to government estimates provided to the Legislative Council on Wednesday, more than 285 pop concerts with more than 10,000 spectators each are expected to be held throughout 2024 and the first half of 2025.
“As a ballpark, these concerts will attract over 3.9 million spectators, including over 1.4 million tourists, whose spending is estimated to be about HK$3.4 billion, bringing a value add of about HK$1.9 billion to the Hong Kong economy,” it said.
Authorities noted that as of May 31, Kai Tak Stadium and Kai Tak Arena had a combined approximate total attendance of 590,000 people at pop concerts at the venues.
