Singaporean singer-songwriter JJ Lin is set to be the first Mandopop artist to perform at the newly opened Kai Tak Sports Park, with tickets for two shows in May priced at up to HK$1,680 (US$216).
The concerts, announced on Sunday as a part of Lin’s world tour, will take place at the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium on May 24 and 25 at 8pm. Ticket prices start at HK$380, with public sales opening at noon on March 20.
Lin is the latest addition to the line-up of stars scheduled to perform at the stadium this year.
British rock band Coldplay will perform there on April 8, 9, 11 and 12, before Cantopop star Nicholas Tse Ting-fung takes the stage between April 24 and 26.
Taiwan’s “King of Mandopop” Jay Chou is also set to hold three concerts at the venue from June 27 to 29.

Kai Tak Sports Park, which opened on Saturday evening with a star-studded gala ceremony, is a major feature in the city’s bid to consolidate its standing as a host for major international sports and cultural events.
At the opening ceremony, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu hailed the stadium as a key driver for Hong Kong’s mega-event economy and called on local and overseas singers to look at holding shows there as a measure of their success.
Spanning 28 hectares (69 acres), the park is Hong Kong’s largest infrastructure project designed to host a wide range of sports, entertainment, tourism and exhibition events.
The park will host snooker’s top 32 professional players at the World Grand Prix starting on Tuesday, the sport’s first ranking tournament to be held in the city since 1989.
The Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament is also set for its inaugural edition at the stadium at the end of March.
The city’s line-up of mega-events is expected to attract some 840,000 visitors and HK$3.3 billion (US$424.1 million) in spending in the first half of the year, Lee previously said.
