Group will make debut performance in city under new name, joining a line-up including MC Jin and Zico from March 21 to 23
ComplexCon Hong Kong in March will feature the inaugural performance of K-pop girl group NewJeans under the new name NJZ, the pop culture festival’s organiser has said.
The group, which has 4.4 million followers on Instagram, was reportedly restricted from using its former name upon terminating its contract with the agency Ador.
“Get ready for an exciting journey with NJZ in 2025! Stay tuned! Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein’s new group name is NJZ,” the group’s social media post on Friday read, showing the five members posing with the festival’s logo.
“We are thrilled to be stepping onto the stage for the first time as NJZ and share something new with everyone,” Minji said.
“It’s a big moment for us and we can’t wait for fans to be a part of this journey with us and show the world our new music that we have been eagerly waiting to share.”
The group will share the stage with a line-up of artists that includes Hong Kong performers MC Jin and Jace Chan Hoi-wing, American hip-hop artist Metro Boomin, and Japanese rappers ¥ellow Bucks and DJ Shuzo.
