Hong Kong temperatures fall to lowest so far this autumn
Cool morning caused by intense northeast monsoon, which will continue to affect the coast of southern China on Thursday, forecaster says

The Hong Kong Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 18.4 degrees Celsius (65 Fahrenheit) at its headquarters on Wednesday, the lowest this autumn so far.
The cool morning was caused by an intense northeast monsoon, while the outer rainbands of Severe Tropical Storm Fengshen continued to bring scattered showers to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea.
“Up to 8.40am, the minimum temperature recorded at the Observatory [in Tsim Sha Tsui] was 18.4 degrees, the lowest so far this autumn,” the forecaster said on Wednesday.
The mercury dipped to as low as 10.5 degrees at Tai Mo Shan and 13.3 degrees in Ngong Ping on Lantau Island and at Tate’s Cairn.

The intense northeast monsoon will continue to affect the coast of southern China on Thursday, with temperatures ranging from 20 to 25 degrees and bright periods expected.
