2 Hong Kong public hospital doctors arrested over patient data leak
Police say associate consultant, 35, and consultant, 57, both from Tseung Kwan O Hospital, arrested in Fo Tan and Ho Man Tin

Two public hospital doctors have been arrested in Hong Kong for allegedly accessing computers with criminal or dishonest intent as part of a suspected data leak.
Police Superintendent Wong Yick-lung said on Monday that a 35-year-old associate consultant and a 57-year-old consultant, both from Tseung Kwan O Hospital, were arrested a day earlier in Fo Tan and Ho Man Tin, respectively.
Officers confiscated computers and other electronic devices as part of the investigation, with the pair remaining in custody, the force said.
The hospital issued a statement on Sunday about the suspected leak, but at the time did not disclose the number of employees or patients involved.
Dr Kenny Yuen Ka-ye, the hospital’s chief executive, said on Monday that the information of more than one patient had allegedly been leaked to a third party, with an internal complaint last month prompting an investigation.
“We found that [at least one] doctor accessed a patient’s personal information, including an address and phone numbers, without authorisation,” he said.
