Winter finally hits Hong Kong: temperatures to drop this week as monsoon lands on China coast
Mercury set to plummet as northeast monsoon arrives on the south China coast

Air temperatures are expected to drop from today and to fall as low as 14 degrees Centigrade by Thursday, due to the arrival of a northeast monsoon on the south China coast.
The temperatures for the whole week will stay below 20 degrees with the frequent replenishment of the monsoon, the Observatory said.
The minimum temperature in urban areas will linger between 14 and 15 degrees throughout this week until next Tuesday, when it will further drop to 13 degrees.
The maximum temperature today will be 19 degrees, which is expected to be the highest reading for the week.
An overcast sky with rain patches will be expected until Tuesday, when brighter periods will be seen.
Rain will also ease off later today.
