City to host ‘Study in Hong Kong’ week to enhance role as a global education hub
Education chief Christine Choi unveils plans for a new campaign and digital learning blueprint to attract talent and foster innovation

A dedicated “Study in Hong Kong” week will be held in February to showcase the city’s strengths as an international education hub, a minister has said.
Secretary for Education Christine Choi Yuk-lin was speaking on Tuesday at the fourth annual Principals’ Forum, organised by the South China Morning Post under the theme “Reimagining Tomorrow’s Success for the Next Generation”.
The event brought together around 300 primary and secondary school heads from across the Greater Bay Area to exchange insights on the future of education.
Addressing the audience, Choi revealed that the government’s task force on the initiative, announced earlier by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu in his policy address, had designated a week for the new campaign.
“The task force plans to roll out the publicity campaign, ‘Hong Kong: Your World-class Campus’, and we have dedicated February 23 to March 1, 2026, as the Study in Hong Kong week,” she said.
Choi added that the city would host the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Conference and Exhibition in 2026. The event is expected to attract higher education leaders and industry professionals from across the region.
