A Hong Kong hiker has died after falling down a five-metre (16-foot) slope in Fanling.

Police received a report at 9.24am on Sunday about a hiker who had collapsed and lost consciousness on Wu Tip Shan in Sheung Shui, close to Wa Mei Path.

The 68-year-old man was rescued and rushed to North District Hospital in Sheung Shui, where he was certified dead at 10.32am.

Another hiker was rescued at around 10.45am from a hillside in Tseung Kwan O after going missing for two days.

The man, also 68, set off for a hike on Friday last week, but lost contact with his family, who filed a report the next day.

At around 10.30am on Sunday, officers received a report that a person was shouting for help near the Mang Kung Uk lower village public toilet.
