Liver failure patient feels loved after successful transplant
A 46-year-old man suffering from severe liver failure whose liver transplant was aborted halfway through the operation last August after it was revealed that the replacement organ came from a kidney cancer patient, was discharged from hospital recently, after he was given another liver. Stephen Lee Ho-yuen said he was mostly unconscious at the time and did not know his ordeal had made headlines until he read newspaper clippings two months later. During the period, his wife took leave of more than one month from work and slept less than three hours a day to take care of him. She cried every time she was interviewed by the media. Li said he was very grateful to her and felt her love.

10,000 arrested in Fujian township over phone scams
Once a place of simple and honest living better known for tea production, Anxi county in Fujian province has more recently become the base of phone scammers. Reporters who visited there recently found that about 10,000 villagers in Zhangkeng township had been arrested in connection with the crime in recent years. The arrests were mostly of relatives and friends hired by fraudsters from Taiwan, which is opposite Fujian. The chief of one village in the township said many houses had been left empty after villagers got rich from phone scams and bought property elsewhere.
