Two people died and two are missing after six tourists were washed away on Tuesday by a flash flood in a Guangdong geological park, a mainland news website reports.
A group of nine tourists from Jieyang, Guangdong province, was caught by the flash flood in Qinglan Geological Park in Chaozhou, and six of the group were washed away at about 2pm on Tuesday, Ycwb.com reported.
Authorities in Chaozhou said a rescue team of more than 200 people was searching the Qinglan Geological Park, which covers 17.16 sq km. Four of the tourists were found and taken to a local hospital where two died. The other two were still undergoing treatment.
The remaining two tourists who were washed away were still missing, the report said.
