Chinese taxi driver weeps after hitting Maserati

A woman taxi driver could not stop weeping on the side of the road after she realised she had hit a Maserati in China’s Liaoning province, local media reported.

The taxi driver admitted she had made a reckless turn in Shenyang’s Tiexi district on Saturday afternoon and hit the white luxury Italian car, the Shenyang Daily said.

The Maserati driver, a man in his 30s, told the woman her insurance coverage of 300,000 yuan (HK$380,200) would not be enough to pay for the repairs.

Photos accompanying the report showed the woman covering her face with her hands and crying, looking stunned. Other pictures showed damage to the Maserati’s headlamp, although the rest of the car seemed unscathed. The bumper on the taxi had fallen off.
