In Indonesia, Chinese Premier Li Qiang urges multilateralism in the face of protectionism
Chinese premier holds talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on second day of trip to Southeast Asia’s biggest economy

In talks in Jakarta on the second day of his trip to Southeast Asia’s biggest economy, Li said China was willing to “join Indonesia to address risks and challenges, and consolidate cooperation in … politics, the economy, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, maritime affairs and security”, state news agency Xinhua reported.
Li warned that rising unilateralism and protectionism were severely disrupting the global economic and trade order and stressed that solidarity and cooperation were the “only right path forward”.
He told Prabowo that China was willing to work with Indonesia and other developing countries to “uphold multilateralism and free trade”, while “firmly safeguarding their interests and jointly promoting regional and global peace, stability and development”.
The two sides also agreed to foster bilateral trade and investment, as well as strengthen cooperation in areas including finance, agriculture, artificial intelligence and new energy.
