Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said rebuilding and governance plans for post-war Gaza should be accelerated during talks with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty.
In a phone call on Saturday, Wang also reaffirmed Beijing’s continued support for Palestinians to govern Gaza and the two-state solution.

“It is high time to speed up the formulation of reconstruction and governance plans,” Wang told Abdelatty during the call, according to a Chinese foreign ministry statement.

“Only by adhering to the two-state solution can the root causes be thoroughly resolved and lasting peace ultimately achieved.”

Wang said Gaza was part of Palestinian territory and that any post-conflict governance should adhere to the principle of “the Palestinians governing Palestine”.
