The Swiss high-end watch manufacturer, F.P. Journe, turned 20 this year, and the luxury brand celebrated by releasing a timepiece that combines elegant style with technical innovation.
The Tourbillon Souverain Vertical features a vertically placed regulator that rotates in 30 seconds, with a double-speed tourbillon.

 
 The complex structure in the remontoire d’egalité mechanism is visible through its transparent mirroring layout from both the front and the back of the tourbillon, which has a power reserve of 80 hours.

Visible along the edge of the face is the name of F.P. Journe and the Latin words, “Invenit et Fecit”, meaning “Invented it and made it”.

. The 42mm case is slightly larger than those of previous designs and its rose gold calibre materials inherit the classic warm tones from most of its F.P. Journe predecessors; a platinum option is also available with this model. The watch features 32 jewels and 230 skilfully hand-wound components.
Part of the pleasure in appreciating this timepiece is taking note of all the carefully crafted details. The deadbeat seconds (available since 2003), the dials and the rotation reflect the brand’s devotion to precision and craftsmanship.
The watch is available for 244,500 Swiss francs (US$240,000).
