Patek Philippe has ensured it pulled out all the stops for Baselworld 2019. The luxury watchmaker unveiled 15 timepieces at this year’s international watch and jewellery trade show in Basel, Switzerland. Featuring 10 men’s and five ladies’ watches, it is also showing off its latest technical innovations and newest style flourishes.
The Alarm Travel Time (5520P-001) in platinum is touted to be the quintessential globetrotter’s watch and boasts of a self-winding grand complication, combining the exclusive two time zones mechanism with a 24-hour alarm, striking a classic gong. Patek Philippe has filed four patent applications for the technology.

This year, the watch manufacturer is also making a debut in the calendar watch segment. The stainless steel Calatrava Weekly Calendar (5212A001) features a new self-winding base movement with an optimised performance spectrum and displays the week number, along with the day of the week and the date.

Some aesthetic rehaul is in order for several flagship models in Patek Philippe’s men’s collection. The Grandmaster Chime (6300G-010) with 20 complications, comes in a white gold version with two blue opaline dials. The self-winding 5078G-010 model has been spruced up with white-gold with a black enamel dial decorated with volutes and arabesques.

The World Time watch (5231J-001) with an elegant map on its cloisonné enamel dial is now housed in a newly designed yellow-gold case. The Annual Calendar Regulator model (5235/50R-001) is now encased in rose gold, featuring a two-tone dial in charcoal grey, gradated to ebony black.

A new case with vintage nuances and a reworked dial refines the aesthetics of the chronograph model (5172G-001). The Annual Calendar Chronograph (5905R-001), is stepped up with a rose gold and brown sunburst dial.

In its new blue dial, the stainless-steel Nautilus model (5726/1A-014) with an annual calendar and moon phases is a picture of casual elegance. Cased in white gold, the Aquanaut “Jumbo” underscores its youthfully dynamic style with a model in khaki green (Ref. 5168G-010).
Refinements for ladies’ watches include a larger diameter and splashy new dial colours in the self-winding Nautilus for stainless steel with a diamond-set bezel (models. 7118/1200A-001, 7118/1200A-010, and 7118/1200A-011).

There is a slightly enlarged white-gold model (4978/400G-001), an enhancement to the already stunning Patek Philippe Diamond Ribbon Joaillerie.

The Calatrava Haute Joaillerie’s (4899/901G-001) plumage engraving on its mother-of-pearl face is now interspersed with diamonds and blue sapphires.
There’s also a Twenty~4 Automatic, the latest addition to Patek Philippe’s range of ladies’ watches with a new haute joaillerie version in pink gold, with diamonds set in random pavé configurations.
