With Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie Genève (SIHH) just around the corner, here are five of the timepieces we’re looking forward to seeing at the show.
Cartier Tonneau Watch Large Model

Cartier looks back to its archives to revive its beloved Tonneau, first launched in 1906, with the Tonneau Watch Large Model, which comes in platinum and pink gold.

Cartier Privé Tonneau Watch in platinum 

The redesigned model runs on the calibre 1917MC, a manufacture mechanical manual winding movement with 38 hours of power reserve. It retains many of the original Tonneau’s key design codes, including the roman numerals, a rail track, a crown topped with a cabochon, and screws on the lugs.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel

Few maisons are able to pull off elegant, dress watches quite like Jaeger-LeCoultre, and its new Master Ultra Thin Moon Enamel provides the latest proof of that.
Camouflage to help Audemars Piguet watches stand out at SIHH fair

The 39mm timepiece boasts a guilloché enamelled dial, highlighting the manufacture’s arsenal of craftsmen. The timepiece runs on the calibre 925/2, which comes with 70 hours of power reserve. The timepiece is limited to 100 pieces.
Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph

The Star Legacy collection receives an update this year with a new Nicolas Rieusse Chronograph available in two versions: a red gold and anthracite model, and a stainless-steel with anthracite dial.
As the name suggests, the timepieces honour Nicolas Rieusse, the French watchmaker who invented the first inking chronograph in the early 1800s. The watches retain its two rotating, horizontally-aligned discs — arguably its most distinctive aesthetic feature — showing a 60-second counter and a 30-minute counter.

The timepiece is driven by the calibre MB R200, a manufacture monopusher chronograph movement with automatic winding and column-wheel mechanism. It also ensures 72 hours of power reserve.

Panerai Submersible Chrono – Guillaume Néry edition

This is the first year since long-time CEO’s Angelo Bonati retirement – and all eyes will be on Panerai’s newest batch of watches, including the Submersible Chrono – Guillaume Néry edition. The new diver’s professional timepiece is inspired by the world record-breaking French free-diving champion.
The novelty has all the hallmarks of a professional diver’s watch, including a unidirectional rotating bezel and luminous white markers for enhanced legibility underwater.

Engraved on the caseback are the champion’s signature and his record dive of 126 metres. The timepiece runs on the manufacture automatic P.9100 calibre with a power reserve of three days.
Piaget Altiplano with meteorite dial

Piaget looks to outer space for inspiration this year – and has found it in meteorites.
The brand will present two timepieces, a 41mm pink gold Altiplano Tourbillon with a blue meteorite dial, and a 40mm pink gold Altiplano with grey meteorite dial.
The dials showcase a specific line pattern, known as Widmanstätten patterns, a natural phenomenon thanks to the presence of crystallised nickel-iron structures within iron meteorites.

The blue meteorite dial version, which includes a ring of diamonds on the case, runs on the calibre 670P and is limited to 28 pieces. The grey meteorite version is driven by the calibre 1203P and is limited to 300 pieces.

SIHH 2019: who’s in – and out – at this year’s Geneva watch fair

The watch trade fair SIHH 2019, which begins on January 14, will take place without long-time participant Van Cleef & Arpels, but will see another Swiss brand, Bovet, make its debut.

Richard Mille will also be bidding farewell to SIHH after this year's exhibition.
