Ulysse Nardin, the new kid on the block at the prestigious Salon Internationale de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), is already living up to the hype surrounding its first foray into the prestigious watch show with four eye-catching timepieces.

The star of the show might just be the Hourstriker Pin-Up, which features a pair of peacocks – one curled around a seductive burlesque dancer – on the dial. When the hourstriker function is employed, the peacock wrapped around the dancer cheekily lifts its wing and one of its tail feathers to reveal her most sensual, private parts. 
 

The dancer and the peacocks are hand-painted directly on the dial, a process that can take between 50 and 90 hours.
Inside the case ticks the self-winding calibre UN-610 which comes with a power reserve of 42 hours.
This naughty yet fun timepiece is limited to 28 pieces and is available in either rose gold or platinum.

The brand also presents two new watches from its Classico collection: the Classico Manufacture and the Classico Rooster.
The new Classico Manufacture has a dial featuring a Grand Feu enamel in a striking blue colour. The Grand Feu – which literally translates to ‘great fire’ – technique originated from the 17th century and requires great skill and plenty of patience to work on, as each enamel layer needs to be expertly baked.
The blue paired with stainless steel makes for a smart, sleek look that is just as appropriate for a black-tie event as it is for everyday use.
Inside the watch beats the in-house UN-320 caliber. The caliber uses a silicium hairsping and anchor escapement in its design, which helps improve precision and durability. The self-winding calibre comes with a 48-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 30m. A seconds counter and a date window is located at six o’clock.
Enamel also features on the Classico Rooster, a timepiece specially created to help usher in the Lunar New Year. The rooster motif on the dial is brought to life by using a centuries-old enamelling technique, something Ulysse Nardin has been a long-time proponent of.
The result is a rooster made up of striking blue and white feathers that are wonderfully complemented by the rose gold dial. The watch, which comes with a self-winding UN-815 movement, is COSC certified.
Finally, fans of divers’ watches can look forward to the irresistibly sporty Diver Chronograph Artemis Racing, created in partnership with America’s Cup team Artemis Racing. The new divers’ chronograph boasts a rubberised screw crown to ensure water resistance to 200m, a unidirectional bezel to stop it from going the wrong way, and Luminescent Superluminova markers to increase visibility. On the case back is a medallion engraved with Artemis Racing’s catamaran.
The watch boasts a 42-hour power reserve and is limited to 250 pieces.
