Independent watchmaker Parmigiani Fleurier is debuting three watches from its Tonda collection at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH): the Tonda 1950 Galaxy, Tonda 1950 Météorite and Tonda Métrographe.
Highlighting the craftsmanship of its dial-makers, the Tonda 1950 Galaxy features a dial of aventurine glass – a glittering glass made in high-temperature and low-oxygen environment. Adding to the sparkle are 84 diamonds that dot the bezel, while a white opal is set in the crown.
The self-winding PF702 automatic movement, decorated with côtes de Genève, is visible through the sapphire case back.
A Hermes black alligator strap adds a luxurious finishing touch.

Adding to previous meteorite editions, the Tonda 1950 Météorite boasts a titanium case and bezel that house an ultra-thin movement of 2.6 mm.
Also featuring unique craftsmanship, the Tonda 1950 Météorite’s dial is crafted from a piece of meteorite using a process developed by the Parmigiani Fleurier, and features re-creations of “Widmanstätten” patterns – found naturally in iron meteorites – using a chemical treatment.
Parmigiani Fleurier is launching two more watches in the meteorite collection at SIHH 2017, each of which will feature a bespoke dial and Hermes strap.

The newest addition to the metrographe collection, the Tonda Métrographe introduces a tachometer and features a chronograph – as did the debut metrographe at SIHH 2014.
The calibre has 351 components and the self-winding movement has a power reserve of 42 hours.
The watch comes with two different dial options. A black dial features rose gold details and a white dial is paired with blue hands.
